Westchester County Government engaged Co-Communications to develop new brands for its Office of Economic Development, Industrial Development Agency (IDA) and Local Development Corporation (LDC). We began our engagement by conducting interviews with stakeholders across the region to help hone the unique value proposition of each. We then conducted an analysis of competing markets and entities to better understand what made Westchester’s offerings unique, and, in turn, what motivated its target audiences to conduct business within the county. Our research and analysis culminated in the development of an umbrella brand, The Catalyst. The name gives a nod to the county’s excellence in bioscience and commitment to helping businesses grow, while underscoring the role that each of the three county offices/agencies play in spurring economic development.
